Table Talk: Week 2 (Season II)

Much to talk about this week children so let’s start with the hand of the evening. Blinds where 200 - 400 and 'Del Boy' found himself against Colin 'The Racing Snake' Grieve. With a raise pre-flop and a call, the flop comes ... Colin checks, Del bets, Colin raises, Del re-raises all-in and Colin insta calls faster than a nats fart. Del flips over , and Colin (who thinks he’s cunningly trapped his victim with trips) turns up . The shock and astonishment on his face, as well as on everyone else’s at the table has only ever been seen before on archive footage of "Watch Out Beadles About!”.  The board completed with the  and , giving Del the trips once everything was said and done.  Maybe it should be Colin 'Misread Mr.Magoo' Grieve instead from now on...  Don't worry chief!!! the 'Copag Braile' additions are already on order as we here at The FPT want to offer full accessibility to all our poker members.

It was a long slog before the starting 20 strong field was whittled down to the final three, which consisted of Archie ‘The Magician’ Prentice, Daz 'Vegas Baby' Philp and John 'Boy Walton' Gooda. With everyone sitting on around 50,000 chips it was still anyone’s game at this point. The decisive hand came when Archie and Gooda had a toss-up over a queen. After a call and a check pre-flop, the flop came all low cards blank, blank, blank. Both players checked and a  fell on the turn. Archie check raised all-in and Gooda called. It was  vs. , advantage Archie with one card to come. The river was the  and this fat lady was singing for Archie.

Heads up we go and last weeks two early eliminatees Gooda and Daz found themselves fighting it out for this week riches. Forget 'Rumble in the Jungle' or 'The Thriller in Manila' this was 'Who's ur Fadger in the Gladyer'. After a long period of sparring back and forth, Gooda still managed to maintain his 3:1 chip lead as they entered what would turn out to be the final hand of the game. Blinds at 3000 - 6000 Gooda calls and Daz checks pre-flop, the flop is  rainbow. Daz first to act leads out with a pot sized bet, only to be raised all-in by Gooda, which Daz calls. Middle pair for Daz with  vs. Gooda's  who has the opened ended straight draw plus to over cards. The turn  made the straight giving Gooda a well deserved victory.

With numbers as strong as they've ever been for a league game, its mental to think how crazy it'll get when we see the return of some of our hardcore regulars.  Thanks to all for playing.
